2026 Planning Week

Our 2026 Planning Week is officially a wrap! We met with all our 12-week and 2026 cohort members to get their winter quarters and 1-year goals planned! I can personally attest to how good it feels to be organized, clear, and ready for the quarter (and year) ahead.

New Planning Inspiration

I recently listened to A Marriage at Sea: A True Story of Love, Obsession, and Shipwreck by Sophie Elmhirst. The book tells the story of a couple lost at sea for 118 days and how they survived. I connected so much to the wife and her need to keep her mind occupied and positive.

One thing struck me: thinking about and designing their next boat kept them alive. Planning their next adventure gave them hope. It’s the first time I thought of planning for the future as a survival skill. For this couple, planning became the vehicle for hope they needed to keep going.

What’s in Your Control?

I was listening to a friend lament about the future. I understood and even agreed with what she was saying. Yet I can’t help but have an irrepressible sense of optimism.

Maybe it’s because planning helps you decide what matters. It helps you focus on what is important to you and in your control. Planning allows you to relax into the present knowing where to put your energy.

Once you make those decisions, you can still change your mind. You can react to new circumstances. But you can also settle into the work of this day. You can focus on what you have agency over.
