It’s summer, kids are out of school, the sun is shining (most of the time) and there is a feeling of celebration and optimism in the air. What a perfect time to share our Q+A with Robin Kelley!

Robin Kelley is the chief resume writer and managing partner at Resume Preferred. Not only does she have a way with words and all things editing, she is able to hear your story, understand your contribution, and then distill it in a way that fills you with confidence so you’re ready to take on the next challenge. We’ve watched Robin leave her career, start her own business, and fully move into running a successful company while maintaining healthy boundaries and a lifestyle centered on family.

Robin brings her contagious optimism and enthusiasm for learning and growth to everyone she meets. You can always count on Robin to be sharing a new book or podcast, a favorite product, or a best restaurant. And although she loves trying new things, she is also someone who is incredibly committed to her practices. Whatever is going on at work or at home, Robin is not going to let her morning routine slide.

We are so grateful to Robin for inspiring us through her intention and care, deep listening and pure joy.

Robin Kelley

My true north/WHY is…
Helping people realize and communicate their value and potential.

My expertise/zone of genius is…
Resume writing and LinkedIn profile development

My daily practices are…
Spending uninterrupted time in the early morning to journal, meditate and read. Exercise and healthy eating play a big role in my life. I’m not perfect, but I do make both a priority. I also prioritize connecting with people who inspire and challenge me.

My favorite indulgence is…
Scrolling through Instagram and looking at photos of Paris and the French Riviera.

I’m reading, listening and/or watching…
I’m currently reading Rise Sister Rise.

To me, accountability is…
Following through on what I said I was going to do. If I made a commitment, there was a strong reason behind the decision. Of course, this is typically something very challenging, but I know from experience that being held accountable in a supportive way has led me to living my best life.

Accountability Works helps me…
Accountability Works is like having a constant, authentic partner dedicated to my success and helping me achieve goals that felt impossible at one time. I’ve been a member of Accountability Works for several years. When I look back on the progress I’ve made and where my life is today, I can literally trace every step back to Accountability Works.
